Rather expected game when 10th ranked Juvecaserta (7-9) lost to eighth ranked Armani Milano (9-7) in Caserta 69-78 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 12 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 9 points. Armani Milano made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for American Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. The other American import swingman Malik Hairston (198-87, college: Oregon) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St.) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Juvecaserta. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Armani Milano moved-up to sixth place. Loser Juvecaserta keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Armani Milano will face SAIE3 BO (#11) in Bologna in the next round where they are favorite. Juvecaserta will play on the road against Vanoli Cremona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
