Sixteenth-ranked VL Pesaro (3-13) was very close to win a game against fifth ranked Lottomatica Roma (11-5). Lottomatica Roma managed to secure only one-point victory 65-64. However their fans expected much easier game. VL Pesaro was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 22-14 third quarter run of Lottomatica Roma. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Luigi Datome (203-87) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds and American-Nigerian power forward Gani Lawal (205-88, college: Georgia Tech) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American-Lebanese swingman Antwain Barbour (196-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with 20 points and Croatian point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86) scored 13 points. VL Pesaro's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Lottomatica Roma have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cantu. VL Pesaro at the other side stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. They share it with Angelico BI. Lottomatica Roma will play against Cantu (#4) on the road in the next round. VL Pesaro will play against Angelico Biella (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
