Regular Season Round 15: Brahe Basket - Hogsbo 68-60

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Hogsbo (5-9) lost to second ranked Brahe Basket (10-4) in Huskvarna 60-68 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hogsbo won fourth quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Brahe Basket forced 24 Hogsbo turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Matthew Cavalieri (198-89, college: Springfield) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Jamaican center Hugh Robinson (202-83) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Cavalieri is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Markus Lenngren (196-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 16 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and center Robert Isaksson (202-87) added 9 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Hogsbo. The victory was the third consecutive win for Brahe Basket. They maintain second place in South with 10-4 record having just three points less than leader Akropol. Loser Hogsbo keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
