Very important is a home loss of third ranked Rubon (8-7) against seventh ranked Borisfen (2-14) on Tuesday night. Host Rubon was defeated by Borisfen in Vitebsk 69-55. Rubon was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Borisfen forced 22 Rubon turnovers. Center Artsiom Sharamet (207-93) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Andrei Aheyenka (194-92) supported him with 14 points. Borisfen's coach Rostislav Vergun allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 23 points and 6 rebounds by Russian guard Anton Indrikov (193-87) did not help to save the game for Rubon. Latvian center Zintis Plivda (206-88) added 7 points and 9 rebounds. Newly promoted Borisfen maintains seventh position with 2-14 record. Rubon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with seven games lost. Borisfen will play against league's second-placed Sozh Gomel at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rubon will play against Impuls BGUIR in Minsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
