The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Sadd (#3) and Qatar Sports Club (#7). Qatar Sports Club was smashed at home by 29 points 51-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Al Sadd dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Qatar Sports Club's 22. Al Sadd forced 20 Qatar Sports Club turnovers. American center Michael Southall (210-82, college: La-Lafayette) fired 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. International swingman Abdulrahman Saad (192-85) chipped in 21 points. Al Sadd's coach Dejan Tomic felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Senegalese Oumar Seck produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and Cameroonian forward Gaston Moliva (202-85, college: Richmond) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Al Sadd (11-3) moved-up to second place. Qatar Sports Club lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Al Shamal. Al Sadd's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Arabi.
