Very important is a road loss of second ranked Hapoel Afula (10-4) against twelfth ranked Elitzur Ramla (4-10) on Wednesday night. Visiting Hapoel Afula was defeated by Elitzur Ramla in a tough game in Ramla 68-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Afula. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-11. But Hapoel Afula won second period 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated the game. Guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary, agency: FCM) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Johndre Jefferson (207-88, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard Anthony Fisher (191-86, agency: Pro One Sports) scored 20 points and 5 assists. Elitzur Ramla moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Kiryat Tivon. Hapoel Afula at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Hod Hasharon and Elitzur Yavne. Elitzur Ramla will play against bottom-ranked Maccabi Kiryat Bialik (#14) on the road in the next round. Hapoel Afula will play against Ironi Kiryat Ata (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
