Regular Season Round 24: UFV - UNBC 67-42

Date: January 25, 2013
Not a big story in a game in Abbotsford where 5th ranked UNBC (6-9) was rolled over by first ranked UFV (12-3) 67-42 on Friday. The game without a history. UFV led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding UNBC to just 6 points in first quarter. UFV made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 35 UNBC turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sarah Wierks (188) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Aieisha Luyken (173) who added 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. UFV's coach Al Tuchscherer felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Sarah Robin with 12 points and Mercedes Van Koughnett scored 5 points and 6 rebounds. UFV maintains first position with 12-3 record, which they share with Carleton. Loser UNBC dropped to the fourth place with nine games lost. UFV will face again UNBC (#5) in Prince George in the next round.
