Regular Season Round 25: Brandon - Saskatchewan 65-68

Eighth-ranked Bobcats (3-12) gave a tough game to third ranked Huskies (11-4) in Brandon, MB on Friday. The visitors from Saskatoon, SK managed to secure only three-point victory 68-65. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 13 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 3 points. Huskies dominated on the defensive end, holding Bobcats to just 0 points in third quarter and to 0 points in second half. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game, while Bobcats only scored five points from the stripe. Huskies forced 19 Bobcats turnovers. Guard Ben Baker (191) fired 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Patrick Burns (198) chipped in 6 points and 14 rebounds. Huskies' coach Barry Rawlyk used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Jordan Reaves produced 19 points and 9 rebounds and Ilarion Bonhomme added 18 points respectively for lost side. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Huskies. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ottawa. Bobcats lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Huskies will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bobcats will play again against the league's second-placed Huskies (#2) in Saskatoon, SK and hope to secure a win.
