Very predictable result when eighth ranked DongGuan Leopards (14-11) defeated on the road 16th ranked Shanghai Sharks (8-18) 100-91 on Friday. The guests trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 25-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. DongGuan Leopards made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Shanghai Sharks only scored seven points from the stripe. It was a great evening for American forward Marcus Haislip (208-80, college: Tennessee) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points. His fellow American import point guard Blake Ahearn (188-84, college: Missouri St.) helped adding 21 points. The best for the losing side was international point guard Wei Liu (190-80) with 23 points and 8 assists and the former international center ZhaoXu Zhang (221-87, college: California) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Four DongGuan Leopards and five Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks' coach let to play twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for DongGuan Leopards. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Liaoning H. Loser Shanghai Sharks keep the sixteenth position with 18 games lost. DongGuan Leopards will face Jilin Tigers (#13) in Changchun in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shanghai Sharks will play at home against the league's leader Guandong Tigers in Dongguan.
