Regular Season Round 20: Chalons-Reims - Fos Ouest 53-65

Date: January 25, 2013
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Chalons-Reims (14-6) against ninth ranked Fos Ouest (11-9) on Friday night. Host Chalons-Reims was defeated by Fos Ouest in Reims 65-53. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Chalons-Reims. The game was mostly controlled by Fos Ouest. Chalons-Reims was better in second period 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fos Ouest forced 22 Chalons-Reims turnovers. The winners were led by American power forward John Williamson (199-86, college: Cincinnati) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import swingman Chris Davis (195-80, college: N.Texas, agency: Court Side) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Justin Burrell (206-88, college: St.John's) did not help to save the game for Chalons-Reims. Naturalized Greek guard Angelo Tsagarakis (190-84) added 11 points for the hosts. Fos Ouest moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Maurienne and Bourg. Chalons-Reims at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Antibes and Le Portel. Fos Ouest will play against Saint Vallier (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chalons-Reims will play against SPO Rouen (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
