Bottom-ranked Al Ahli managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive loses on Saturday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Qatar Sports Club in Doha 71-64. Al Ahli dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Qatar Sports Club's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Senegalese forward Ibou Gueye Sarr (204-83) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and Guinean Youla Mohammed Beka accounted for 23 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Senegalese Oumar Seck came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks and Cameroonian forward Gaston Moliva (202-85, college: Richmond) added 18 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Qatar Sports Club in the defeat. Four Qatar Sports Club players scored in double figures. Al Ahli maintains ninth place with 2-13 record. Qatar Sports Club lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Al Shamal. Al Ahli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Arabi.
