Very predictable result when third ranked Wisla Can-Pak (12-3) rolled over 10th ranked Widzew (1-14) in Lodz 85-48 on Saturday. The game without a history. Wisla Can-Pak led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Widzew's 18 and made 25-of-29 free shots (86.2 percent) during the game, while Widzew only scored nine points from the stripe. Wisla Can-Pak forced 20 Widzew turnovers. It was a very good performance for center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 rebounds. The former international forward Daria Mieloszynska (185-83, college: Texas, agency: Data Plus Group) contributed with 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Wisla Can-Pak players scored in double figures. Coach Jose Ignacio Hernandez's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Czech center Leona Jankowska (190-77) answered with 13 points and 8 rebounds and guard Malgorzata Chomicka (168-83) added 13 points in the effort for Widzew. Defending champion maintains third place with 12-3 record having just two points less than leader Artego Bydg. Widzew lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 14 games lost. Wisla Can-Pak are looking forward to face Energa Torun (#4) at home in the next round. Widzew will play against PTK Pabianice (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
