There was an upset in London, ON where higher ranked Gryphons (5-10) were edged by eighth ranked Mustangs (2-13) 71-68 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Gryphons won third quarter 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mustangs forced 21 Gryphons turnovers. Gryphons were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Quinn Henderson (193) who scored 22 points and 4 steals. Forward Charlie Drouin (196) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Four Mustangs players scored in double figures. Forward Daniel McCarthy (190) produced 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Jack Beatty (190) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mustangs moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Mount Royal. Gryphons lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with ten games lost. Mustangs will face league's leader Lancers in Windsor, ON in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
