No shocking result in a game when first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (21-5) beat 3rd placed Panasonic Trians (15-11) in Kariya 82-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 15 points. Aishin Sea Horses outrebounded Panasonic Trians 42-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Quite impressive performance for the former international power forward J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Ryvon Covile (206-84, college: Detroit Mercy) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) added 15 points in the effort for Panasonic Trians. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Aishin Sea Horses maintains first place with 21-5 record. Loser Panasonic Trians keep the third position with 11 games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will face Mitsubishi Dolphins (#7) in Nagoya in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Panasonic Trians will play at home against Tochigi Brex (#6).
