Tenth ranked Sorgues won an overtime thriller against higher ranked Quimper UJAP by one point 89-88 on Saturday night. The game took place in Quimper. But the guests from Sorgues were better at the end. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Quimper UJAP. Quimper UJAP was tied after three quarters and then recorded another tie at the end of regular time. They were eventually defeated in overtime 8-9. Sorgues made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. American-Italian swingman Ryan Zamroz (192-87, college: Master's) scored 25 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Cedric Mansare (195-85) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Sorgues will meet at home league's leader Orchesien BC in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Quimper UJAP will play against Chartres and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the ProB just one year after relegation.
