Regular Season Round 29: Oita H.Devils - Takamatsu FA 88-79

The game in Oita was also quite interesting. 7th ranked Takamatsu FA (10-17) played at the court of eighth ranked Oita Heat Devils (10-17). Oita Heat Devils managed to secure a 9-point victory 88-79 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-79. Oita Heat Devils looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American forward P.J. Alawoya (203-88, college: McNeese St.) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Alawoya is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Oita Heat Devils players scored in double figures. point guard Masaaki Suzuki (176-87) produced 23 points and American swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Takamatsu FA's coach Kenzo Maeda tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Oita Heat Devils moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Takamatsu FA. Oita Heat Devils will face again Takamatsu FA (#7) at home in the next round.
