Regular Season Round 14: GAC Eunikos - Kronos AD 38-70

Bottom-ranked GAC Eunikos is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 14th consecutive match to seventh ranked Kronos AD (7-7) 70-38 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Kronos AD led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Kronos AD forced 25 GAC Eunikos turnovers and outrebounded them 54-30 including a 25-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Jasmine Smith (172, college: St.Mary's, CA) notched 26 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Maria Xanthou (185-82) supported her with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Even 15 points and 7 rebounds by Nikolina Ioannidou (174-94) did not help to save the game for GAC Eunikos. Forward Stella Tsiopoulou (182-81) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. GAC Eunikos' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Kronos AD moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Ikaros Kalitheas and Aris. Loser GAC Eunikos still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Kronos AD will meet league's leader Panathinaikos in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. GAC Eunikos will play against the league's second-placed Athinaikos (#2) in Athens and hopes to get finally their first victory.
