There was a surprise result in Venezia where eleventh ranked Muggia (6-11) beat higher ranked Marghera (9-8) 65-59 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-59. Marghera was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Slovenian power forward Ana Ljubenovic (182-88) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Annalisa Borroni (183-83) chipped in 17 points. Guard Marta Savelli (175-82) produced 24 points and forward Lucia Ferri (182-85) added 6 points and 13 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Muggia moved-up to tenth place in North, which they share with Valmadrera. Marghera lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Muggia will face Biassono (#14) at home in the next round.
