Rather expected game when 9th ranked Terpsithea (5-9) lost to sixth ranked Ikaros Kalitheas (7-7) in Glyfada 55-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Ikaros Kalitheas. Terpsithea managed to win fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ikaros Kalitheas forced 22 Terpsithea turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international guard Theoni Tzegianaki (162-85) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds, 13 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and American center Jasmine Erving (187-90, college: CS Northridge) supported her with 24 points and 6 rebounds. Even 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by guard Alexia Botsari (175-83) did not help to save the game for Terpsithea. Cypriot guard Eleana Pantazi (177-83) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Four Terpsithea players scored in double figures. Ikaros Kalitheas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Aris and Kronos AD. Newly promoted Terpsithea dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Asteras. Ikaros Kalitheas will meet higher ranked AO Ellinikou (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Terpsithea will play against PAOK (#4) in Thessaloniki and hope to secure a win.
