Regular Season Round 26: Regina - Alberta 76-75

Top ranked Golden Bears (13-3) recorded its third loss in Regina, SK. Visitors were edged by seventh ranked Cougars (6-10) 76-75. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Golden Bears. Golden Bears were ahead by 4 points after three quarters before a 24-19 charge of Cougars, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Golden Bears outrebounded Cougars 39-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Paul Gareau (201) saved the victory by scoring 23 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Forward Connor Burns (201) contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. Naturalized Kenyan guard Kenneth Otieno (188) replied with 26 points and 7 rebounds and forward Adam Weir (201) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Golden Bears. Golden Bears' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cougars maintains seventh position with 6-10 record. Golden Bears at the other side still keep top place with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
