An interesting game for Hamamatsu Phoenix (20-10) which played road game in Shimane against 3rd ranked Shimane Magic (18-10). Second ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix managed to get a 4-point victory 93-89. It looked good early as Shimane Magic took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hamamatsu Phoenix had a 26-23 second period charge getting the lead and Shimane Magic was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-93. Strangely Shimane Magic outrebounded Hamamatsu Phoenix 46-33 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern, agency: Top Notch Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Wendell White (198-84, college: UNLV, agency: Top Notch Sports) chipped in 24 points and 5 rebounds. Four Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds and guard Brandon Freeman (191-83, college: UALR, agency: Court Side) added 20 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hamamatsu Phoenix have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Shimane Magic at the other side keeps the third place with ten games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix's next round opponent will be Tokyo Cinq R. (#8) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Shimane Magic will play against Kyoto Hannar. (#6).
