Regular Season Round 30: Shinshu BW - Chiba Jets 65-87

The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Chiba Jets' (14-12) road victory over 7th ranked Shinshu BW (13-15) in Nagano 87-65 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Chiba Jets. Shinshu BW was better in second period 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Chiba Jets dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 26. Shinshu BW was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated also this game. It was a good game for center Joe Werner (201-84, college: Wisc.-La Cros.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Forward Marquin Chandler (202-82, college: San Jose St.) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Chiba Jets' coach Shinji Tomiyama felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Jermaine Green (203-80, college: N.Texas) replied with 24 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Shinshu BW. Chiba Jets have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 14-12 record. Shinshu BW lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 15 games lost. Chiba Jets will face Miyazaki Shining Suns (#10) on the road in the next round. Shinshu BW will play against Gunma.
