There was no surprise in Wolfville, NS where 6th ranked Varsity Reds (4-9) were defeated by second ranked Axemen (9-3) 74-64 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 74-64. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Owen Klassen (208-91) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Tyler Scott (188) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Axemen players scored in double figures. Axemen's coach Stephen Baur used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard William Mc Fee (190) produced 24 points and 6 assists and forward Jordan Irvine (193) added 22 points respectively for the guests. Axemen maintains second position with 9-3 record having 3 victories less than leader UBC. Varsity Reds lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
