No shocking result in a game in Sassari where second ranked Banco di Sard. (14-3) won against 13th ranked Sutor Montegranaro (5-12) 106-90 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Banco di Sard.. Sutor Montegranaro was better in fourth quarter 27-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Banco di Sard. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Drake Diener (196-81, college: De Paul, agency: Priority Sports) stepped up and scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Travis Diener (184-82, college: Marquette) chipped in 19 points and 9 assists. The former international power forward Valerio Amoroso (204-80) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Philadelphia) scored 19 points. Five Banco di Sard. and four Sutor Montegranaro players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Banco di Sard. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 14-3 record behind leader Cimberio VA. Sutor Montegranaro at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Banco di Sard. will face Cantu (#5) on the road in the next round. Sutor Montegranaro will play against SAIE3 BO (#11) in Bologna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
