There was no surprise in Hod Hasharon where 11th ranked Hapoel Holon (5-10) was crushed by seventh ranked Bnei Hasharon (7-8) 103-77. The game without a history. Bnei Hasharon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Bnei Hasharon outrebounded Hapoel Holon 51-37 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Bnei Hasharon brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jumaine Jones (203-79, college: Georgia) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. American-Mexican swingman Romel Beck (201-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 32 points for the winning side. Five Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. Coach Ariel Beit-Halamy's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Frank Hassell (203-88, college: ODU) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import guard Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) added 22 points and 4 assists respectively for Hapoel Holon in the defeat. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Maccabi Rishon. Hapoel Holon at the other side dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Bnei Hasharon's next round opponent will be higher ranked Hapoel J-M (#4) in Jerusalem and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Holon will play at home against the league's second-placed Hapoel Eilat (#2).
