Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Nagoya: Toyota A. (#3) and Mitsubishi K. (#5). Mitsubishi K. was smashed at home by 19 points 53-72 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game without a history. Toyota A. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Strangely Mitsubishi K. outrebounded Toyota A. 46-26 including a 21-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international guard Maya Kawahara (167-87) notched 15 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and center Rina Kawasaki (180-88) supported her with 16 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Four Toyota A. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 24 points and 17 rebounds by center Enjin Wantsu (189-87) did not help to save the game for Mitsubishi K.. Swingman Mitiko Miyamoto (175-86) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Toyota A. maintains third position with 18-6 record having six points less than leader Toyota B SR, which they share with Chanson V-M. Mitsubishi K. at the other side keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Toyota A. will play against league's second-placed Fujitsu RW in Kawasaki in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Mitsubishi K. will play at home against Denso Iris in Kariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
