There was no surprise in Roma where 12th ranked College Italia (2-14) was crushed by fourth ranked S. La Spezia (12-4) 67-29 on Sunday. S. La Spezia outrebounded College Italia 35-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Alice Quarta (175-91) who scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Antonella Contestabile (187-87, agency: Players Group) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Center Francesca Minali (185-94) produced 8 points and 6 rebounds and forward Anita Russo (175-97) added 6 points respectively for the hosts. College Italia's coach Stella Campobasso gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for S. La Spezia. They moved-up to third place in South, which they share with Napoli S.Dike. Newly promoted College Italia keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. S. La Spezia will face Irpino (#8) in Ariano Irpino in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. College Italia will play at home against Salerno (#9).
