Regular Season Round 15: Hapoel T-A - Maccabi Rishon 60-69

The biggest surprise of round 15 in Winner League was guest Maccabi Rishon's (7-8) road victory over 7th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (6-9) 69-60 on Monday evening. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-60. The best player for the winners was American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) who scored 25 points. His fellow American import forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks and naturalized Swedish power forward Jonathan Skjoldebrand (204-83, agency: Ronsport) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Maccabi Rishon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bnei Hasharon. Newly promoted Hapoel Tel-Aviv dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi Rishon is looking forward to face higher ranked GreenTops Netanya (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Maccabi Haifa and is hoping to win this game.
