There was no surprise when 5th ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (12-6) was outplayed on the road by second ranked Brasilia (14-4) 80-60 on Monday. Brasilia dominated on the defensive end, holding Paschoalotto/Bauru to just 7 points in second quarter. They made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Brasilia made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Welington Dos Santos (185-81) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. International guard Alex Ribeiro (191-80, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 17 points and 6 rebounds. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. At the losing side international guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western, agency: Veracity Sports, LLC) responded with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks and American forward DeAndre Coleman (201-86, college: S.Alabama) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Brasilia. Defending champion maintains second place with 14-4 record having six points less than leader Flamengo. Loser Paschoalotto/Bauru dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Brasilia will face Uberlandia (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play against Mogi in Mogi das Cruzes.
