Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Doha: Al Shamal (#7) and Al Gharafa (#5). Al Shamal (4-12) won against visiting Al Gharafa (9-7) 62-58. Nigerian-American guard Mezie Nwigwe (193-88, college: Robert Morris) had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Gabonese power forward Lyvann Obame (201, college: Monroe Coll.) chipped in 12 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Nigerian forward Manny Adako (203-87, college: Northeastern, agency: Court Side) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Egyptian guard Omar Salem (190) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Al Shamal maintains seventh position with 4-12 record, which they share with Qatar. Al Gharafa at the other side keeps the fifth place with seven games lost.
