Regular Season Round 17: Kalev/Cramo - Tln Kalev 95-62

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tallinn: Kalev/Cramo (#3) and Tln Kalev (#8). Kalev/Cramo (12-5) crushed visiting Tln Kalev (4-15) by 33 points 95-62. The game was mostly controlled by Kalev/Cramo. Tln Kalev managed to win third quarter 27-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Tln Kalev 52-18 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Ty Abbott (192-88, college: Arizona St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Latvian guard Armands Skele (192-83) contributed with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Mario Paiste (184-89) answered with 13 points and guard Raido Roos (187-84) added 10 points and 4 assists in the effort for Tln Kalev. Tln Kalev's coach Kalle Klandorf gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Kalev/Cramo have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains third place with 12-5 record having just one points less than leader TU/Rock. Tln Kalev lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. Kalev/Cramo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tln Kalev will play at home against Valga (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
