Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Doha: Al Arabi (#4) and Al Ahli (#9). Al Ahli was defeated at home 55-68 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Al Arabi forced 19 Al Ahli turnovers. The best player for the winners was American swingman William Byrd (201-85, college: Ark.-Pine Bluff) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. American-Nigerian forward Alvin Mofunanya (203-87, college: Fair Dickinson, agency: Dream Team Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Al Arabi's coach Hatem Mamlouk allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese forward Ibou Gueye Sarr (204-83) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds and Guinean Youla Mohammed Beka added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Al Arabi (11-5) moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Jaysh. Al Ahli at the other side stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost.
