Very significant was Olimpia GrGAU's (#1, 12-0) victory against 4th placed Sozh Gomel (5-8) 86-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sozh Gomel. The game without a history. Olimpia GrGAU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Sozh Gomel's 30 and made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Olimpia GrGAU had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. Russian-Ukrainian center Lyubov Alyoshkina (203-81) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and Maryia Papova (186-94) accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Olimpia GrGAU players scored in double figures. Olimpia GrGAU's coach Aliaksandr Shimkovyak felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ukrainian center Elena Staschuk (192-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and Ukrainian center Anna Kiriyenko (190-93) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Sozh Gomel in the defeat. Olimpia GrGAU (12-0) have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 12 victories in a row. Sozh Gomel at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Olimpia GrGAU will play against Gorizont (#3) in Minsk in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sozh Gomel will play on the road against the league's second-placed Tsmoki-Minsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
