Everything could happen in Montreal, QC at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Redmen and their biggest opponent Stingers had identical 6-4 record. This time Redmen used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Montreal, QC 63-61 on Friday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Stingers trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 19-8 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 61-63 at the end of the game. It was a very good performance for forward Vincent Dufort (195) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Simon Bibeau (188-91) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Evens Laroche (193) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Kyle Desmarais (188-87, college: Cent.Conn.St.) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Stingers. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Redmen (7-4) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Bishop's. Stingers at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. Redmen will have a break next round. Stingers will play at home against Rouge et Or in Quebec City, QC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
