Regular Season Round 30: Zhejiang CB - TianJin S. 118-90

There was no surprise in Hangzhou where 13th ranked TianJin Steel (10-18) was outplayed by eighth ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (15-13) 118-90. The game was mostly controlled by Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank. TianJin Steel was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to TianJin Steel's 60. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank forced 23 TianJin Steel turnovers. American guard Quincy Douby (191-84, college: Rutgers) notched 36 points (!!!) and 5 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Eddy Curry (211-82) supported him with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists by American power forward Donnell Harvey (203-80, college: Florida) did not help to save the game for TianJin Steel. Forward Nan Zhang (197-81) added 24 points and 6 rebounds. Four TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank moved-up to sixth place, which they share with DongGuan L. TianJin Steel lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Fujian QB. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank will play against league's second-placed Shandong Bulls in Jinan in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TianJin Steel will play at home against DongGuan Leopards (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
