Regular Season Round 27: TRU - TWU 72-60

Very expected game when 8th ranked Trinity Western (5-13) lost to third ranked Thompson Rivers (13-5) in Kamloops 60-72 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-60. Thompson Rivers forced 20 Trinity Western turnovers. It was a good game for center Diane Schuetze (191) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Jen Ju (170) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Holly Strom (180) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and forward Emily Knauff (180-87) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Trinity Western. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Thompson Rivers. They maintain third place with 13-5 record having just one points less than leader St.Mary's. Loser Trinity Western dropped to the sixth position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
