No shocking result in a game when third ranked Toronto (8-6) beat at home 6th ranked Laurentian (5-11) 69-54 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Toronto forced 24 Laurentian turnovers and outrebounded them 42-23 including a 21-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for guard Jill Stratton (178) who led her team to a victory with 14 points and 4 assists. Forward Alicia Van Kampen (188) contributed with 8 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Emma Decloe (183) answered with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks and guard Danielle Harris (165) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Laurentian. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toronto. They maintain third place with 8-6 record having ten points less than leader St.Mary's. Laurentian lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Toronto's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Toronto York.
