Regular Season Round 27: McGill - Concordia 66-71

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Montreal: Concordia (#2) and McGill (#1). McGill was defeated at home 66-71 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of McGill. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests were already 16 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 21-10 McGill's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 71-66 at the end of the game. Strangely McGill outrebounded Concordia 37-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Marilyse Roy-Viau who scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Richelle Gregoire chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Concordia players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Guinean forward Mariam Sylla (186-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Dianna Ros (170) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Concordia (8-3) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with defeated McGill. Concordia's next round opponent will be Laval (#4) in Quebec City.
