Regular Season Round 31: Okinawa GK - Osaka Evessa 78-65

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Okinawa GK as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Okinawa GK defeated 9th ranked Osaka Evessa at home 78-65. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Osaka Evessa was better in third quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American players dominated also this game. It was a great evening for center Jeff Newton (205-81, college: Indiana) who led his team to a victory scoring 9 points and 16 rebounds. Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) helped adding 16 points. At the losing side forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds and power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota, agency: SportsTalent) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Osaka Evessa at the other side keeps the ninth place with 20 games lost. Osaka Evessa will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Okinawa GK will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Osaka Evessa at home.
