No shocking result in a game in Victoria, BC where second ranked Vikies (13-5) won against 6th ranked Timberwolves (5-13) 72-61 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-61. Vikies dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Timberwolves' 26. They outrebounded Timberwolves 54-28 including a 18-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Timberwolves were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Terrell Evans stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Michael Acheampong chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Vikies players scored in double figures. Vikies' coach Craig Beaucamp used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Sam Raphael (188) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Francis Rowe (178) scored 11 points. Vikies have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 13-5 record having just -1 points less than leader UBC, which they share with Saskatchewan. Timberwolves lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
