Very predictable result in Glyfadas where fourth ranked PAOK (10-5) smashed 9th ranked Terpsithea (5-10) 65-41 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by PAOK. Terpsithea managed to win third quarter 13-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Terpsithea to just 6 points in fourth quarter. PAOK forced 25 Terpsithea turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Caila Desroches (193, college: Chicago St.) who scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Stavroula Spanidou (180-84) chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Maria Panagiotopoulou (187-83) who recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds and forward Flora Zevahirgian (182-88) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively. PAOK maintains fourth place with 10-5 record. Terpsithea lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Asteras. PAOK will meet at home higher ranked AO Ellinikou (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Terpsithea will play against GAC Eunikos (#12) in Liosa and hope to secure a win.
