A very interesting game took place in Aldeota. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 9th ranked SKY/Basquete (9-10) to sixth ranked Vivo/Franca (12-7) 88-87 on Saturday evening. SKY/Basquete was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Vivo/Franca made 27-of-30 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Figueroa (184-86, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 19 points and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and center Lucas Mariano (207-93) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Even 19 points and 5 assists by point guard Matheus Costa (179-80) did not help to save the game for SKY/Basquete. The former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) added 19 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SKY/Basquete's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Vivo/Franca moved-up to fifth place. SKY/Basquete lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Vivo/Franca's next round opponent will be Liga Sorocaba (#7) in Sorocabana. SKY/Basquete will play at home against the league's second-placed Brasilia (#2).
