Rather predictable result in Saskatoon, SK where second ranked Huskies (13-5) smashed 4th placed Wesmen (11-8) 89-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Huskies led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Huskies outrebounded Wesmen 48-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Wesmen's players. Forward Matthew Forbes (198) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Patrick Burns (198) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Benny Iko (198) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Jordan Clennon (183, college: West Plains JC) scored 17 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Huskies maintains second place with 13-5 record having just -1 points less than leader UBC, which they share with Victoria. Wesmen lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
