Bottom-ranked Tijuca TC managed to get a third victory, breaking the four-game losing streak. This time they won against fifteenth-ranked Vila Velha in Rio de Janeiro 82-74. American guard Benzor Simmons (196-88, college: Tenn-Martin) replied with 21 points and naturalized Syrian power forward Eder Araujo Gorges (212-81, college: Walsh, OH) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Vila Velha. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tijuca TC maintains eighteenth position with 3-16 record. Vila Velha lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 14 games lost. Tijuca TC will play against higher ranked Mogi (#14) in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
