Another interesting game for Toshiba Thunders (16-12) which played in Tokyo against one of their biggest challengers Hitachi Sunrockers (15-13). Fifth ranked Toshiba Thunders had an easy win 76-64. The game was mostly controlled by Toshiba Thunders. Hitachi Sunrockers was better in third quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toshiba Thunders dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Sunrockers' 30. Toshiba Thunders players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Chris Moss (204-80, college: W.Virginia) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. American center Darren Fenn (208-80, college: Canisius, agency: Three Eye Sports) responded with 11 points and 7 rebounds and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Toshiba Thunders have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will play against Mitsubishi Dolphins (#7) in Nagoya in the next round. Hitachi Sunrockers will play on the road against Panasonic Trians in Osaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
