There was a minor upset in Rodou where 9th ranked Ilysiakos (5-10) was defeated by twelfth ranked Kolossos (5-10) 71-63 on Saturday. Ilysiakos was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 24-14 charge of Kolossos, which allowed them to win the game. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Ilysiakos was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: David Lee services) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Marcus Hatten (186-80, college: St.John's) helped adding 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) with 21 points and Nigerian-American forward Aloysius Anagonye (203-81, college: Michigan St.) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Ilysiakos' coach Giorgos Zeugolis tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kolossos moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Ilysiakos. Kolossos will face bottom-ranked Panelefsiniakos (#14) in Eleusina in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
