Regular Season Round 19: Anwil - Asseco Prok. 59-71

The biggest surprise of round 19 was guest Asseco Prok.'s (13-6) road victory over 3rd placed Anwil (12-7) 71-59 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Anwil. The game was mostly controlled by Asseco Prok.. Anwil managed to win second period 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Anwil to just 7 points in first quarter. The former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) fired 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. The former international Przemyslaw Zamojski (194-86, college: Independence CC, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 22 points. Asseco Prok.'s coach Andrzej Adamek used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) produced 18 points and 5 assists and naturalized Bosnian forward Seid Hajric (203-83) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Asseco Prok. have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Anwil at the other side dropped to the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Trefl Sopot. Asseco Prok. are looking forward to face Siarka Jezioro (#9) in Tarnobrzeg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Anwil will play on the road against Trefl Sopot (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
