Second ranked Peli-Karhut (18-4) crushed at home 10th ranked BC Nokia (3-19) by 41 points 100-59, which is the biggest margin this round on Saturday night. The game without a history. Peli-Karhut led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Peli-Karhut forced 30 BC Nokia turnovers and outrebounded them 45-27 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international guard Linda-Lotta Lehtoranta (175-91) who scored 26 points and 4 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). American swingman Korinne Campbell (182-88, college: W.Virginia) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds. Five Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. Peli-Karhut's coach Seppo Kurki felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alberta Auguste (180-85, college: Tennessee) who recorded 15 points and center Anniina Aijanen (189-95) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Peli-Karhut. They maintain second place with 18-4 record having just two points less than leader Catz. BC Nokia lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 19 games lost. Peli-Karhut will meet Kerava Energia Team (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. BC Nokia will play against Honka in Espoo and hope to secure a win.
