Regular Season Round 19: Angers BC 49 - Blois 61-60

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Angers BC 49 (6-11) edged at home higher ranked Blois (9-8) 61-60 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Blois won third quarter 23-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Angers BC 49 won last quarter 11-11. Angers BC 49 outrebounded Blois 41-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for Icelandic Logi Gunnarsson (192-81) who helped to win the game recording 18 points. Forward SyPir Traore (204-85) contributed with 9 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Angers BC 49's coach Vincent Lavandier used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Daviin Davis (193-85, college: Weber St.) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and center Jonathan Tornato (210-89) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Blois. Angers BC 49 maintains twelfth place with 6-11 record. Loser Blois keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Angers BC 49 will face Vendee Challans (#14) on the road in the next round.
