Second Stage Round 3: Fujitsu RW - Toyota A. 48-55

The game between Top Four teams took place in Kawasaki. Second-best host Fujitsu RW (20-5) lost to third ranked Toyota A. (19-6) 55-48. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-12. But Fujitsu RW won second period 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toyota A. brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Ryoko Yano (178-78) who led the winners and scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Center Mori Binge (180-88) accounted for 8 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. The former international power forward Ayumi Suzuki (179-85) came up with 6 points and 8 rebounds and international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Fujitsu RW in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toyota A.. They maintain third place with 19-6 record having six points less than leader Toyota B SR. Fujitsu RW at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Toyota A. will play against league's leader JX Sunflowers in Kashiwa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fujitsu RW will play on the road against Chanson V-M in Shizuoka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
